Which TYpes of EDM Machine DO you need? (Purose of EDM Machines)
There are three common types of EDM Machines also known as Electrical Discharge Machines (EDM Maquinas)
- Wire Cut EDM (Electroerosión por hilo）machine uses a wire electrode and CNC movement to produce the desired shape。
- Drilling EDM or Hole Popper EDM (Barrenado). This EDM machine is used to make small holes in a metal piece ranging from 0.1-3.0mm (starting holes for WEDM, pin holes in punch die).
Die Sinking EDM (Ram EDM, Electroerosión por penetración) uses electrodes in various shapes to create unique and complex cuts. In Sinker EDM as the name suggest both the electrode and the workpiece are submerged in the dielectric fluid during the process.
